Marie Sherman -
Marie Sherman has loved drawing, especially horses, since she could hold a pencil.
Her love of the horse goes back to a shared ride with her dad on a rented horse in
suburban Los Angeles when she was five. Her lifelong dream to own her own horse finally
came true over 25 years later when she bought her Half-
After majoring in fine art, she had put her art on hold until her youngest child was 2 years old. After the ten "dry" years, Marie returned to painting and has entered works in various art shows. She has won numerous awards, including Best of Show in some.
Her watercolor and pastel paintings are representational in style. Marie takes occasional classes and workshops to continue growing as an artist and has painted and taught in her home studio near Yosemite National Park for many years until moving to be near grown children and grandchildren. . She and her very supportive husband now reside on a farm along with mini horses, dogs, cats, goats and chickens just outside of Eugene, Oregon. Her work is currently shown at the Pacific Rim Art Guild Gallery on Broadway in lively downtown Eugene.
